The two villages of Gaschurn and Partenen lie embedded amidst a fascinating mountain area at altitudes of 1.000 to 1.050 m. Gaschurn-Partenen in the Hochmontafon, one of Vorarlberg’s most attractive tourist communities, is situated right by the Silvretta Nova ski area and on the solpes of Silvretta Bielerhöhe. The two villages have plenty of pleasant 3* and 4* hotels and top quality gastronomy, yet they have retained their original old-fashioned charm and harmony with nature. No massive hotel complexes spoil the village architecture here.
In winter and summer, for action and adventure or rest and relaxation, Gaschurn-Partenen is the perfect location for a unique and unforgettable holiday.
For people who are interested in culture, a visit of the first Austrian tourism museum is recommended. Here, you come to know several things about the most important visitor of our community - Ernest Hemmingway. Also in recent time in Gaschurn-Partenen, cultural history was written. Thus, for example, the two cinema films ”Schlafes Bruder” and “Marlene” as well as the new film of Joseph Vilsmaier “Bergkristall” were produced here.
The Silvretta, as ascent in the enormous snow and glacier arena of the Silvretta Bielerhöhe, serves the Vermuntbahn with following travel by old lug tunnels to the Bielerhöhe and the high-altitude cross country course in Europe, the “Loipe 2000”, and to a famous ski touring area surrounded by the extensive route area of the Silvretta at the bottom of the enormous Piz Buin. You will be guided by an interesting ski safari from Bielerhöhe to Galtür/Pazauntal and back through the valley of Ganifer to Partenen.
Silvretta Nova’s 100 km of downhill runs and alpine runs form one of the most easily accessible and fascinating winter sport regions in Austria. Three cable-car lifts take skiers right to the heart of this extensive ski area. Thirty lifts and wide open slopes provide all the variety of skiing needs – for both beginners and advanced skiers. Boarders enjoy the 150 m halfpipe with their own direct approach runs of the mountain station and the 400m Freexrun. The BoarderX distance was adapted to the area and thus unique in its kind in Austria.
The 5,5 km long, illuminated toboggan run from Garfrescha mountain and a permanent carving run complete Silvretta Nova’s Winter sport attractions. Most modern snow plants secure optimal runways until the spring.
And beyond that, as a guest of the Montafon, you have access to 209 km marked runways, 100 km kept in track cross country courses, 192 km of winter moving ways, 37 ski routes and much, much more...

Altogether, 52 km cross-country courses from Partenen to St. Gallenkirch and the cross-country paradise Bielerhöhe are kept in track in the winter (only good snow conditions).
Winter moving is possible in Gaschurn and Partenen, in the skiing area Silvretta Nova, as well as at the Bielerhöhe. At the Bielerhöhe, the 8 km winter footpath to the "Wiesbadener Hütte" is very popular. Likewise, enjoy the promenades in fresh, clear winter air. |

The Bielerhöhe offers you 22 km cross-country tracks with diffrent degrees of difficulty.
The tracks in detail:
1. Seeloipe, 6 km easy track on the lake (skating is also possible)
2. Höhenloipe: 5 km moderate track
3. Silvrettadorf Loipe: 1,5 km easy track (as requested kept in track)
4. Dammloipe: 2 km easy to moderate track
5. Loipe Galtür: 8 km easy to moderate track which is only accessible in safe snow conditions
6 Wiesbadner Hütte: 8 km - no track, but the winter footpath is accessible with cross-country skis. | | Skiing | Beginners as well as sport freaks will find everything needed to have an unforgettable winter holiday in the biggest skiing area in region Montafon - the Silvretta Nova.
At the Bielerhöhe, point of departure for high alpine ski- and glacier routes above the timerline, inviting high altitude cross-country routes, at 2000 m above sea level leading over the frozen up Silvrettasee, to the Nordic ski fun.
