The Grossarl Valley is a snow-covered land of enchantment and awaits you with a magnificent array of attractions and heartfelt hospitality. Enjoy your vacation - undoubtedly the most special time of everybody's year - amid pristine nature, while you take advantage of all the sports and recreational features of one of the most modern ski areas in the entire state.

Winner of the SalzburgerLand's "Ski Area Test" in 1992 & 1995!

Today, our ski area is regarded as one of the most modern in all of the SalzburgerLand, an assertion confirmed by its being a 2-time winner of the SalzburgerLand's "Ski Area Test" sponsored by the Austrian Broadcasting Company.

We have always put quality ahead of quantity, which is reflected in our investments of recent years.

NEW since THE WINTER 2004/05:
The run down to the village was optimized. The lift-company has also investet app. 3 Mio EURO in snowmaking equipment to guarantee you ski-pleasure from the beginning of december to the end of April. In total there are 117 modern snowmaking-machines which are able to "snow" 90 % of the whole ski-area.

NEW since THE WINTER 2003/04:
A new selective run with a length of app. 1,5 km is being built in summer 2003 directly at the new Harbach-Chairlift.

NEW since the WINTER 2002/03:
A new 6-man-chairlift was built in Großarl instead of an old t-bar-lift and an old 2-man-chairlift and will bring you up the mountains faster and more comfortable since the beginning of the season 2002/03.

In 2001 alone, over 7 million EURO were invested in improvements to the ski area, including:
> Construction of the "Fulseck I Summit Lift" a 6-person cabin lift out of Dorfgastein
running to the mid-station and connecting with the already existing
"Fulseck II Summit Lift"
> Building of a 4-person chair lift to replace the previous T-bar tow on the "Kühhageralm" a popular sun-drenched slope
> Expanded use of snowmaking equipment

Trails and Routes

General:

The Grossarl Valley-Dorfgastein ski area offers you 20 modern lifts and 80 km of superbly groomed slopes! Since the winter of 2001/2002, the ski area is an integral part of the new Amade Ski Alliance, the largest of its kind in all of Austria with over 860 km of slopes and 270 modern lifts.

 

Cross-country Skiing  For everyone who prefers a leisurely cross-country circuit to the hustle and bustle of downhill skiing, as well as those who enjoy snapping on the cross-country skis right after racing down the slopes, the Grossarl Valley offers a 30km-long, superbly groomed trail in the classic style, the majority of which also features a skating trail. It runs from Grossarl, southwards along the banks of a stream. About 5km into the trail, there's a brief steep segment, after which it continues until immediately prior to the center of Hüttschlag. After a footpath of around 400 meters in length, the trail recontinues, leading past the popular "Aschaustüberl", then on into the picturesque valley head area with its great snow conditions, and finally to the "Talwirt" National Park Inn with its large parking lot, the "Magic Woods" exhibition and the National Park Info Center.

1 week Adults € 7.30 Children € 3.65Skiing  The Grossarl Valley, with its multitude of mountain peaks, is a much sought after ski-touring area, all the way into late spring. Due to its broad Alpine meadows and gentle landscapes, it is superbly suited for even less experienced "tourers" - it's an area that truly caters to all ability levels.Snowboarding  FUNPARKS and HALFPIPES for SNOWBOARDERS in Grossarl!

On the third section of slope No. 9, snowboard "freaks" will discover an adventure park that's been designed to reflect international standards, featuring a sound system and a 90 m halfpipe, 200 meters long with a max. width of 30 meters. The halfpipe in Grossarl is 90 meters long.

These facilities are quite an attraction for all snowboard fans and are even a challenge for boarder pros!

In addition, there are a number of very difficult moguls runs located throughout the entire ski area.
