The creation
of two brothers Kurt and Tyler (guess their last name), Tierney
Rides was born originally from an idea that came to Kurt in
Spring of 1999. He wanted to create a street board with all
of the characteristics of a Snowboard. Speed. Control. Touch.
And, most of all, he wanted the feeling of carving the hill.
It seemed
obvious to Kurt that it had to have two wheels. Kurt and Tyler
decided the only way to be sure was to make one. The first prototype
was made from hardware store parts in their mom’s garage.
While nowhere near the ride they were looking for, they knew
it was possible.
After 10
months and countless trial and error, the basic ideas for the
final Torsion Response Technology™ - were finalized. Snowboarders,
skateboarders, friends and family tested prototypes. The feedback
was extremely positive. Like all great ideas, everyone who
rode it couldn’t believe no one has created this technology
before. Tierney Rides LLC was officially formed in October
2000. Manufacturing began in March of 2001.
And as
soon as you step on to a T-Board, you’ll understand how
well the passion has paid off.
