Sherpa Adventure Gear is dedicated to the recognition and financial
support of the legendary, intrepid Sherpa people. The outerwear,
apparel and sleeping bags we offer have been developed using the
combined experience and knowledge of hundreds of successful treks
up Mt. Everest and other major summits.
The Sherpas are a remarkable
people who have served for decades as both high-altitude porters
and skilled technical climbers of difficult
terrain. But despite their matchless abilities and work ethic,
they have received little pay or recognition for risking their lives
to
support others in their climbs and expeditions.
Sherpa Adventure
Gear was born from a desire to change that, utilizing a business
concept that combines social responsibility with economic
motive.
Each Sherpa summiteer sponsored by Sherpa Adventure Gear receives
a royalty, and proceeds from the sale of each item go to a special
fund
for the health, education and welfare of needy Sherpa children
in Nepal.
Our business creed dictates that we work only with
partners that are fully compliant with internationally recognized
labor
practices.
