General:
Niseko offers skking conditions for everyone. The 38km or so of groomed runs will keep you busy for a few days. Then the off piste back country areas offer sme amazing terrain with lots of bowls, cornices and tree runs.
The "local rule" policy should be known and obeyed. Although the patrols are quite relaxed about ducking the rope they do issue avalanche and dangerous area warnings which are best listened to.
For those who don't get enough turns in during the day, the Hirafu night skiing area is one of the most extensive in the world. There aret two more areas at Higashiyama and Annupuri allowing you to enjoy runs through trees even at night!
For those who enjoy a hike the terrain that is easily accessed is fantastic. Even if you don't enjoy hiking and skiing/snowboarding you should make the effort to climb " the peak" . The view is worth it alone, but after coming down a fresh untracked run after a big fall of powder you'll be itching to take the chair and hile to the top again.
Lifts run from 830-9:00.
The powder never seems to stop falling from mid December to end of February.March sees continued falls but more blue skies and less crowds-not that it is ever crowded.
